About Me
I am the Executive Director of the Centre for Health Economics & Policy Innovation (CHEPI) at Imperial College Business School.
After completing a PhD in infectious disease epidemiology and mathematical modelling at Imperial College, I pivoted to a management position and moved to the Business School to support the establishment and development of CHEPI.
CHEPI is now the largest and most active research centre in the School and has established itself as the focal point for world-class research and teaching in health economics, policy, and management across Imperial College.
With no prior experience, I switched from a research career into management, which has now developed into leadership. I lead the development of our ambitious growth and impact strategies, which rely heavily on establishing new partnerships and fund raising, along with directing a team of administrative staff and overseeing all operational activities of the centre.
Experience
- Provide strategic and operational leadership of a £13M+ research portfolio, managing 30+ staff and aligning with Business School and university priorities.
- Drive Centre-wide planning, finance and budgets, risk management, compliance, and ensuring long-term sustainability.
- Build strategic partnerships with UKRI, NIHR, WHO and academic collaborators to expand CHEPI’s policy impact and external profiles.
- Lead business development, securing grants and long-term contracts, and steering governance and executive decision-making.
- Oversee development of flagship tools (e.g. Health-GPS), positioning CHEPI as a leader in health policy and simulation modelling.
- Mentor mid-level leaders, foster a high-performance culture, and lead hiring, retention, and staff development.
- Serve as module lead for MSc and BSc programmes, delivering cross-Faculty teaching and student supervision.
Managing the development of the Centre for Health Economics & Policy Innovation at Imperial College Business School. I was promoted to Executive Director in August 2022.
- Development of a mobile-based advanced mathematical model capable of simulating real-time estimates of HIV care pathways at the country-level to inform UNAIDS 90-90-90 targets
- Member of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation funded HIV Modelling Consortium
- Developed complex agent-based microsimulation models of HIV care systems in sub-Saharan Africa to optimise care pathways
- Self-taught skills in C++, R, Terminal and Python
